BMR and TDEE Calculator
Basal metabolic rate is the energy your body needs at complete rest. Total daily energy expenditure is that number scaled by how active you are. Both are estimates for planning, not prescriptions.
How this is calculated
- Equation: Mifflin-St Jeor. Men: 10 x kg + 6.25 x cm - 5 x years + 5. Women: 10 x kg + 6.25 x cm - 5 x years - 161.
- Activity multipliers: 1.2 sedentary, 1.375 light, 1.55 moderate, 1.725 active, 1.9 very active. Predictive equations are usually within about 10 percent of a measured value.
- Energy balance is not linear. As intake changes, body weight changes, and expenditure moves with it, so re-estimate every few weeks.
